You're Ok Tonight Lyrics Critique- No particular genre, just with an acoustic

by Kimberly
(Texas)

the tempo is around 76.
This is a duet, so when the female is only singing I will put a F by the line, when a male is singing i will put a M and when they are both singing, which in this song it is always in harmony, I will put a H on the line. Enjoy(: Any feedback is welcome(:

You're Ok Tonight

Beginninng all Female:
I watched the sunset sink over this rainy town
I don't know what will happen now that I'm future-bbound
I watched you bring me to life through the years
So I kiss you goodnight and I smile through all of my tears

Bridge:
H-Iwanna hold onto you
F- Whatever it takes
F-But I know that time can give and it can take
F- I don't Wanna lose you

Chorus: All Female

But I'm throwin down this ring
I'm gonna live my life
I hope I didn't break you
But you'll find another one
I'm throwin down this ring
I'm gonna live my life
I hope that you're ok
I hope you're ok tonight.

2nd part: All male

I knew I saw somethin' in your eyes
the night that you kissed me and told me that you were fine
Though I never imagined you'd go to such extremes
I never imagined you'd be leavin me

Bridge(same format)

H-Ohhhh (leads to chorus

Chorusx1 (Still all female)

Middle:
H- Time went on, It's been so long, since I've seen your face
H- I wish that I, could go back to my, mistakes

Female: I never imagined I'd see my own heart break

Chorus x1 (Still all female)

Chorus change:

F-I threw down that ring
F-I went and lived my life
M-I hope it didn't break you (F-I broke myself)
M-But I found another one (F-ohh)

All Male:
You threw down your ring
You went and lived your life
I hope that you're ok (F-I'm not okay)

H- I hope you're ok tonight

end.

sorry this sketch is so rough, I just really need feedback.

This song or Lyrics are correctly coordinated to whatever music it is being added to, it is something that other writers should see to understand how to arrange a song with lyrics.

Nice work
by: Carter

your song was easy for me to find a melody and sing along in my head as i read it. you maintain a solid flow and you chorus has a solid punch with throwing down the ring. i think it would great with a blues guitar. Nice work!

good song arrengement
by: Anonymous

Good lines, good lyrics and arrengent the story is clear and precised song writers should take note, I think this can work with a simple guitar strings for a country class.
