Writing a song, It all starts with a title
by Paul
(UK)
That's right. You see an image in your head or in real life and you instantly have the title! A great title will write the song for you. Some great examples include The Beatles "8 Days A Week", which was inspired by Paul McCartney's driver. When McCartney asked the driver why he never seemed to have a day off work he told him he worked 8 days a week. That was the inspiration for the song which was written very quickly and became a number one hit.
Others include The Bee Gees "New york Mining Disaster 1941" Diane Warren's song "Un-Break My Heart written for Toni Braxton, and John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads". All the above titles paint an evocative picture in our minds - and of the songwriter. That's where the magic begins!
