Why Try? Lyric Critique - Acoustic
by Bryan M. Bunt
(Dallas, Texas)
I guess I'll start off by explaining that I'm 15 and I wrote this song after a breakup, and the girl I was with wouldn't even look in my direction, I loved her but I guess I can't say the same for her. I wrote it on an acoustic, so that's what I usually play it on. I just wanted some feedback.
Waking up isn't hard to do when I know I'll be seeing you, Don't take that wrong.
I'm still trying to get a grip and realize our love has slipped down into the open.
(Bridge)But try as I might, I can't get her out of my mind.
I'll fight through the night, but I won't get an ounce of sleep.
(Chorus) I'm just a simple guy, trying to get by in life
is that too much?
She's just a stuck up girl. Floating off in her own world, why do I even try?
It's time to get away, realize that no matter how I wait I'll never get her back
I guess it's time to graduate from a school of thought that only shows hate, Maybe this will make me stronger.
(Bridge) Try as I might, I can't get her out of my mind.
Fight through the night, but I can't ever get to sleep
(Chorus) 'Cause I'm just a simple guy, trying to get by in life. Is that too much?
And she's just the perfect girl, living in her own world, Why do I even Try,
Though I'll never be right when the realm of women comes in sight, and I try to stand without two feet of my own. No matter how hard I push I can't crawl to the edge of this cliff, I'll never be free.
(Chorus) and I'm just a stupid guy, trying not to fall apart, is that too much?
And she's just the perfect girl, living off in her own world, and she's already forgotten about me...
