Knew Steve in 1974 working in Scirocco's. I was in the U.S. Navy. I would come in on leave to see him and when I walked into the place in uniform he would play Anchors Aweigh. I liked him and still where you are I consider you my friend.

I had the pleasure of meeting Steve and his Darling wife Judy in the 1990s when he was resident in Clydes Restraunt in Venitian Village, Naples Florida. He is a real nice guy an awesome singer/pianist/songwriter. To hear him sing "I´ll Take you Home Again Kathleen" is like being in the presence of Angels. God Bless him I owe him thanks for some wonderful memories and a very special Thanksgiving spent at his home in Bonita Springs, Florida.

I had the pleasure of playing a few gigs with Steve around 1993 or so in Fort Myers. One of the very few really TOP SHELF musicians I got to play with. There are lots of good players out there, but only a few that are superlative...like "She Believes in me", which stands out among Kenny Rogers' songbook. It's for folks like Steve, and those intimate moments shared thru music, that I started playing drums in the first place.

I got to meet Steve once during the early 1990s. His cousin was once my father-in-law. Steve and I played our guitars together one afternoon at my in-laws' house. I remember him telling about his time at Peabody Conservatory during his formative years. Indeed a great musician (and a nice guy to boot)!

I had the pleasure of growing up knowing Steve. My mother, Janice miles, was a good friend of Steve's. He used to come to our cabin in Kentucky and play piano and jam with my mother and step-father.

Steve is one of the best people I have ever met, and his "perfect pitch" is something of a wonder when you accidentally hit your water glass with your fork and he tells you what note it is.

One of Steve's favorite games is playing an entire song on the piano using only the keys corresponding to your phone number. He is a blast to be around.

My father, Carroll Dugger, convinced Steve to submit his song, She Believes In Me. My mother, Patricia Dugger, sewed the suit he wore to the Grammy's the year the song went up against Charlie Daniels' (the devil went down to georgia). We used to go to Steve and Romi's home in Brentwood TN to swim and BBQ. Good times. Steve called me Obscene Christine because of how I danced.

We had the pleasure to meet Steve Gibb by our lovely friend, Judy Green, when they hosted us in their house in Bonita Springs last May (In fact it was an amazing surprise to us meeting Judy again after more than twenty years and finding out that she was the wife of a brilliant musician!). Steve is a sweet person and we had the chance to listen to some of his songs live. God bless this wonderful couple and we do hope to see them again in a close future.

Wonderful Songwriter and Spirit

I first met Steve in 1991 as we joined Jeff Silbar in Houston, Texas to speak and perform at Rockefeller's for the Songwriter Group of Texas. He was an amazing performer and his songs were so personal and touching. I began hanging out in Scirocco's where artists and producers would eat and listen for songs to record, including Chet Atkins. When last we spoke, around 1993, he was moving to NYC. I can not locate him. Anybody know where he is? www.jamesnihan.com

I worked with Steve Gibb in a band in Nashville in 1977. I was the drummer in the band. Steve is a prolific writer and extraordinary pianist. Playing music with him was exceptional and we sang duets together. He is a genius. "She Believes In Me" was written at Mickey Cirracos Italian Restaurant. We ate there often with other musicians.
