Our recording studio in Riverside, CA - The Musik Planet - was set up to service the recording needs of locals artists. We invested enough to be able to provide a professional finished album. (Super sound insulation, stuff like that.) When you build a studio, keep in mind (like we did) what your target market is going to be. If you are doing it like we did, you just have to be careful in your equipment purchases. It's better to hire talented people who can produce with less than to hire a unqualified person and throw money at him or her in order to get the desired results. We have engineers who can produce product that will impress the pickiest of musicians, and we did not have to break the bank in order to outfit them. The Musik Planet is at www.TheMusikPlanet.com.
