Untitled - Song Lyrics Critique

I've been working on this song recently, it is subject i've never experienced until recently so i just wanted some advice of any other writers. Basically what i have is two verse's and a chorus so far, i have a melody for the song but i'm still unsure where to go with the story:

Counting down the days drains the colour from your skin and the hurt that sleeps inside you…it slowly drags you in
Counting down the days, it drains the colour from your skin and the fear that sleeps inside of you…it slowly pulls you in

It’s so hard to see you as a shadow of what you used to be
It’s so hard to see you as a shadow of what you used to be

Just whisper in my ear and tell me all those fears,
no one has to hear what you say.
Just whisper in my ear and tell me all your fears,
no one has to hear what you say.

It’s so hard to see that you are a shadow of what you used to be
It’s so hard to see that you are a shadow of what you used to be

Hey!

Good job! the parts that i like:

"drains the colour from your skin"
"slowly drags you in"

it flows well when you say it and it carries good emotion.. awesome

also i like the idea of the whisper in the ear and no one has to hear it... however i think you should try to rephrase it so it's shorter

finally i would try to pay more attention to the rhyming, there are too many words on each lines before it rhymes... listen to great songs and analyze the rhyming, for example maybe you're not into that style (maroon 5) but check this example of nice rhyming

i got so high
i did not recognize
the fire burning in her eyes
the chaos that controled my mind

shorter lines
better rhymes!

but overall you got a nice feeling going, just need to refine it a bit!! good job!

it's repetative but still very good, and also sorta sad from my perspective, but shorten the lines, and mabey it flow a little diffrently.
