Try to make each song different.

It's so boring when one song sounds the same as the other, even if they're from different artists, it's good to reinforce others' ideas, but not everything! Try and use different chords if playing an instrument and let the tune go the totally opposite direction, people might as well only listen to/buy one of your songs.
