I think it was early
some may call it late
I know things were not wonderful
Hell not even close to great
my mind was really racing
though the answers were not near
I felt like a hunter
chasing that elusive deer
then I came to a spot,
some call a fork in the road
and at that moment I realized
I can be the prince not the toad!
I lifted up my chin
and what did I see?
I saw a whole world,
whole life just ahead of me
I can let myself accept what I have done
I can be proud of who
I am and no longer have to run
So at that moment I realized
and finally looked at me
I was amazed what I saw
the mirror smiled back at me
