The Butterfly Song- Lyric critique

Ok... So I'm only 13, and I know this song isn't amazing... but I'd love to know what you think!

My Daddy used to tell me
that I was his little butterfly
But that seems like a lifetime ago
Back in those simpler times

And now I'm eighteen and suddenly
It's my turn to fly
And I know it's hard to let your little girl go
but daddy you should know that I'm gonna be just fine


CHORUS
This butterfly's got her wings
and you've taught me how to do all the right things
Even though you're letting me go
I'll never be far away from you
I've gotta spread my wings and fly

That's the first part :) I want it to have a slower, popish, countrish feel
