Suggestions for building a recording studio.

I have been editing and creating music now for 8 years and have a small recording studio. My sugestion for software would be Adobe Auditions and FLStudio. I have found Adobe to be a much better program then Pro-Tools. I have been using adobe since before they bought it and it was Cool Edit Pro. For a PC I would most likely visit Cyberpowerpc.com and get a low end gaming PC with a solid state hard drive to run the operating system on and use external drives for all your work. The Phenom II is a great processor and Iw ould look into getting a audio card with midi inputs. Insulating the room? Go to a local lumberyard and by foam sheets, cut them to size and glue to all your walls. They will last years and are paintable. Its not very expensive. As far as Midi Controlers go, I use a vci-1000 (awesome simple mixing board) and a Korg MicrokorgBK which doubles as a beat box/piano for all sound fonts and styles. As far as Mic's, the B-2 Pro is a sweet mic with great clarity and no static issues and is very cheap. You should be able to build a sweet recording studio for as little as an 1800 dollar investment. Once you get the hang of the software and start recording for local bands and singers, you could make your money back in a weeks worth of work. FYI...It is hard in the begining. Learning the software on your own can be a headache. If you stick it out you will make break throughs and it quickly becomes exciting and fun from there.
