Stand up Lyrics Critique- Pop

by Amy Costa
(Tuckerton, NJ, USA)

Look at me and what do you see?
A dumb blond babe, but there’s more to me.
Baby can’t you see, what I’m out to be,
More than you make me seem.

With my fists clenched tight and my head held high
Im trying to fight the world but its hard at your side
He’s controlling me, so I stand up for me
But the question is can he see me?

Now when you look at me, its for publicity
I’m tired of living a lie, and not being me.
Baby, set me free you can see its hurting me
But you act so cool and don’t see a thing.

With my fists clenched tight and my head held high
Im trying to fight the world but its hard at your side
He’s controlling me, so I stand up for me
But the question is can he see me?

Why do I try pleasing you
When in the end you look like the fool!
At first I felt loved, now you’re a tool
I’m tired of living a lie when you know the truth.

With my fists clenched tight and my head held high
Im trying to fight the world but its hard at your side
He’s controlling me, so I stand up for me
But the question is can he see me?

Look at me and what do you see?
A dumb blond babe, but there’s more to me.

Nicely done
by: JoBeth

You might want to refer to "him" in the same way, either using you or him, he, etc., but not both.

Hope that's not confusing
