songwriting problem

I have a slight problem with a song I'm currently writing...
I have an idea for a song but I don't know how the lyrics should go.. I tend to have this problem a lot.. which isn't good since I'm in a band and when we write music my mind always goes blank when we're coming up with the lyrics...

Here's some of my lyrics so far:
If nothing is going right and it's hard to find the light
I just want you to know, I'll be there.

.. can anyone help give me ideas to expand on that?

I'm willing to help you expand your song and get more lyrics in here. But first you need to let me know what your song is about. Is it for someone? About something in your life? or is it an emotion you were feeling and you found these words when going to write about it?

Don't feel bad I have written about 5-6 songs I have an idea for one but right now all I have is the Title. I tend to have a tendency of being inspired when I'm not around a pen and paper. I could of written so many lyrics to songs. So I carry a notebook around with me because you never know when you are going to be inspired. So just let me know and I'll help you out and maybe you can even help me? Like I said before I can right lyrics but I can't write music I have an idea of what I want it to sound like but I don't know how to compose it.
