Songwriting help

umm hey. im interest in becoming a singer. im doing the vocal practis and its coming along great, my only problem is i cant write a song to save my life!! i have so many ideas soooo many insperations for songs but i cannt put the words in my head onto the paper... then again sometimes i can but i just cant do it in a way that i think hey this is a song, its more like a short story if that makes sence i know there is a differance betwean writing a song and a story.. i just cannot get it, if anyone could help that would be amazing thanks,

If you can get the short story, then you are part way there. I write them like that sometimes. Then the trick is to compress the story into images that convey the feeling or meaning rather than having a whole bunch of words. If you want to send me some stories, I can take a crack at it.
