Most of the GREATEST songs in the world where written during an author's "hard times". Use your emotion in the songs you write so that the people in the audience who feel the same get it and feel connected to your music. Another thing is YOU MUST HAVE PASSION!! If you don't then nobody will "feel you". So remember it's more than just slapping down words...it's pouring your heart into every line.
