Songwriting and the guitar

There is so much detail on the craft of songwriting per se. How about songwriting and the guitar? Where does that leave the guitarist who is searching for that kind of information?

When I talk about information on songwriting and the guitar, I'm refering to real, exclusive and concrete content, whether in book form or otherwise, with a deliberate bias to guitar players.

Every guitar player knows that the guitar is unique, and the processes involved with writing songs on a piano, for example is different to that of a guitar.

The first step you need to take before you can competently use the guitar as a songwriting tool, is develop yourself as a guitar player.
