Songwriters Lyrics Critique Corner
Songwriters,
Welcome to the lyrics critique main page of the
Songwriters Forums.
Are you looking for feedback on your lyric? Post it here! This is a great way to rewrite your lyrics with the help of other songwriters. You are free to post as much as you like.
Let people know what you are looking for from a lyric critique and what you intend to do with your lyric. Please include additional information such as the
intended genre (rock, pop, country, hip hop, rap, etc.)
the tempo of your lyric.
This will help others understand exactly what your goals are.
Please spread the love by responding to the lyrics needs of other songwriters.
You must critique at least ONE lyric for each one you post.
Naturally, the more you critique the lyrics of others, the more feedback you will receive. You will gain almost as much experience from reviewing lyrics as getting your own lyrics reviewed.
When posting your lyrics, include the keywords "lyric critique" as well as the genre of your song in the title. This is very important for the search engines.
How to critique lyrics
When critiquing lyrics, be sure to read the entire lyric to get a feeling for the song's purpose and mood. If you have any thoughts about the lyric, jot them down then read through the lyrics again. Then consider things like:
Rhythm
Rhyme
Poetic Technique
Emotion
Logical development
I shall be highlighting some of the best lyric critiques posted by YOU to give you an even better idea of what we're looking for.
Please follow the above guidelines otherwise your lyrics won't be published.
All are welcome to post their original lyrics here.
