Song Writing Tip

A tip that I use when writing the words to a song is to first use word association. example: Tears, there are many things that contain water such as a lake, sea, canal, or well. Rather than just come out and say that you are crying you use a reference to flowing water of some type but said in unique way to indicate that you are crying tears. When you use this technique it has to be said in a way that anyone who hears the words associated to tears will know that is what is meant.
