Song lyrics critique - Abbey
by Abbey Baron

This is the first song I have ever written with the Guitar so its not that great wich is why im looking for some suggestions on how to improve it. It uses the chords E minor, C, G, and D with a capo on the third fret.
First verse:
We were only sixteen
Kind of young and sort of naive
And you took my heart and swept me
Right off the ground and off of my feet
I thought I could trust you
But that was a mistake on my part
Cause you went behind my back that night
And broke my heart
And I was prepared to let you go
To let you know we were through
Till you said you were sorry
You would never leave me
You begged me to stay
And you said
Chorus:
Girl your my true love
No this world aint big enough
to hold the love I have for you
Girl your the only one
Without you what would I become
Your the other half of my heart
The other half of my heart
2nd verse:
So we get back together
I gave you a second chance
And you said things would be better
But I was sort of skepticle and
I wasnt sure if I could trust you
Afraid to get hurt again
But I knew how much I loved you
So I let you take me
and sweep me off my feet again
when you said
Chorus:
Girl your my true love
no this world aint big enough
To hold the love I have for you
Girl your the only one
Without you what would I become
Your the other half of my heart
The other half of my heart
3rd Verse:
It took a while for you to gain back my trust
But eventually I realized the love was enought
To keep us together
And thinking about it one day
I realized I had never loved anybody in that way
You were the only one for me
So I picked up the phone
Called you
and I said
chorus variation:
Your my true love
No this world aint big enough
To hold the love I have for you
Your the only one
Without you what would I become
Your the other half of my heart
The other half of my heart
Your the other half of my heart.
