Recording

by Carol
(Houston)

We are recording a CD in a recommended studio. The people are very nice and accomodating. The problem is that when we get our CD in the car or home and listen to it --- it just doesn't sound right. The recording studio has a 24 track recorder. Is it just not going to sound right and be radio ready until the cd is mastered? Right now, it seems like the vocals and the music are not meshed properly.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sounding Right
by: A.L. Mcintosh

Hi Carol

All I can say is that mastering makes one hell

of a difference. It makes everything sharper and

brighter. I didn't know until recently what a

difference it makes. Having said that, the song

really needs to sound pretty good beforehand.

What exactly are you unhappy with?
