Recording music - which step would you reccommend first?

I am a song writer/producer. I have only one piece of equipment,and that's the Triton...I have hundreds of hits inside of the triton that I have written to and I'm ready to record...but I want to record in secret...I have one..well actually 2 computers (1) laptop and (1)desktop computer...The desk top computer is a basic Compaq and I would like to know, what is the first step you would take if you were me...to further your process for possible recording...without involving other people.What would I need first to be able just to record and mix my music to my perfection. Second what would I need to know is what I need to record some serious audio? Thank you....Jet Black
