Well, all of this information is good.
However, One thing that has to be addressed is where are you recording?
You environment plays a big part and yes alot can be accomplished in a bedroom. But as good as the equipment is, even if you buy premuim gear, unless you take some time to treat your environment acoustically
all the gear will be performing "subpar".
I can't tell you how many people on other forums have
talked down the gear (monitoring speakers, microphones etc.) when in fact the environment was not acoustically
corrected or had issues which could be corrected fairly inexpensively
Now this does not mean spending a gabillion dollars
on treatment, something as simple as a heavy blanket againsta concrete wall to reduce room refleoctions. or add more pillows to the couch!
Just some thoughts, in some cases we focus to much on the gear and not the environment we are working in.
