Nothing will ever take the place of Persistence and Determination (as a Songwriter)

I had the opportunity to work as a runner at a Six Flags location in Jersey this past summer. During that time I transported major artists, their production teams and tour bus drivers. Many that I spoke with live close to the Nashville scene. I took the opportunity to ask a lot of questions about the song process. One question was... (Among the thousands of song submissions, how does one get picked?) The answer would invariably come back to an old cliche... "Right place at the Right time." As a songwriter, experience must be there first for you to be able to determine which songs that you feel would be worth putting energy on. Once you've chosen your ammunition..FIRE. It's been said opportunity knocks....it should be.. Make the Opportunity. NEVER GIVE UP. Make as many musical contacts as you can consistently. If one of those contacts get their foot in the door, you now have much better odds to move your song. The general idea that I picked up from this summer was, that chances increase greatly to have your song heard or sold by considering the following ratio. The process is 10% talent and 90% timing. Do everything you can to make it happen. "Nothing will ever take the place of Persistence and Determination". Much Success
