Non-sense lyrics

I'm a big fan of rock music and jam bands. some of my favorite bands are led zeppelin, jimi hendrix, the allman brothers, and phish. my question is this, "how do you create lyrics that are energizing, whether they are non sense lyrics or meaningful ones?"

I think this is more about if the lyrics mix well rythmically(sp?) with the music. Some people don't even listen to lyrics. People will often only hear parts of a song and they sing along because of the hook or even make up their own lyrics.

I keep remembering that song "blinded by the light/ wrapped up like a deuce. Another runner in the night".

Of course deuce sounds like "douche" and I have no idea what the rest of the song is about. But this part is catchy enough to remember the song. I can remember the rhythm of the lyric with the music, but none of the other words.
