My song writing secrets

by Bria
(Peabody, Ma)

Always keep a pen and something to write on handy. Whether its a napkin, receipt or a notebook.

When i get emotional, like after a fight with a friend or my parents, or after ive seen an incredibly sad movie, or ive just had an off day, those are the times when all the ideas start flowing in my head.

Usually the end of a long day, just before going to sleep, is the best time when you can sit down, relax, and let any thoughts or feelings pour out onto paper.

I always end up going to bed an hour later than i planned becuase i find myself sitting at the desk in my bedroom writing down lines that i feel can be turned into a hit song.

Dont overthink. Start writing a few key lines, take a break and go back to it at a later date. Or better yet just sing the lines into a recorder.
