My Old Friends
I’m going sailing this weekend with some of my old friends,
I’ve been away to long, and I need to make amends.
I walked the straight and narrow since the day I said I do,
Now their coming back again to help me over you.
They’re always there for me come wind or rain or shine,
No matter what I tell them they never seem to mind.
If I start remembering you another one steps in,
And soon I’m casting off to forgetting you again.
(Chorus)
I’m sail’n with Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, Jose Cuervos coming to,
Ron Rico, Johnny Walker, and Budweiser to name a few.
We’re going away with Captain Morgan at the first light of day,
Cause I’ve got alot of memories I need to drink away.
More of my old friends joined me at mid-day,
Old Mr. Boston, Pepe Lopez, and Old Grand Dad led the way.
With Lord Calvert, Hiram Walker we all set out to sea,
Then and there I couldn’t think of a place I’d rather be.
They never let me down when my stormy seas get rough,
And when it comes to drinking we never get enough.
We’ll be gone all weekend, don’t want to see the shore,
The only time we’ll anchor is to run to get some more.
(Chorus)
Now it’s Sunday afternoon and with the setting sun,
All my friends have left me they’ve fallen one by one.
Budweiser and Jack Daniels their the last to stand,
But they’ll fall by the wayside, by the time that we reach land.
I’ll feel like hell come Monday, I don’t know what to say,
But with a little pick me up I’ll make it through the day.
The week will pass so slowly and I know I’ll think of you,
But thats alright my friends and I we’ll plan another cruise.
(Chorus)
