Lord, It's A Good Night To Cry Lyrics Critique - Country Song

by C. Raymond
(Arizona)

(To be played in a Hank Williams style)

The rain is fallin' outside
I can't keep the tears from my eyes
Today was the day she said goodbye
So Lord, it's a good night to cry

(Chorus)
Lord, It's a good night to cry
When you learn her love for you has died
The pain she caused is burning inside
And all I can do is sit here and cry

I begged and pleaded for her to stay
And asked her please, not to go away
But as the rain fell from the sky
These tears fell from my eyes
Lord, It's a good night to cry

How I wish she'd return to me
But I guess this is how it has to be
So because she's left and gone
My tears will linger on
Lord, It's a good night to cry

(Chorus, last line x2)
