YEAH!
by: Doug

Yeah, It looks great! here's info on it:

Loon Song Singer/Songwriter Camp is designed for all levels of ability from beginners to professionals. The camp runs from June 7 to June 11, 2009 in Holderness NH. This year’s instructors consist of music industry veterans, singers, songwriters, musicians, promoters and sound technicians.

Jonathan Edwards & David Mallett, two legendary singer songwriters will be providing songwriting workshops and evening concerts.

Jonathan Edwards achieved instant fame with his 1971 million-selling song “Sunshine” (”go away today”), which earned him a gold record. His long career has included collaborations with artists like Emmylou Harris and Jimmy Buffett, plus theater, commercials, movie soundtracks, TV series narration, and record production.

David Mallett’s songs have been recorded by more than 150 artists, including Pete Seeger, Alison Krauss, John Denver, Emmylou Harris, Peter, Paul & Mary–even The Muppets–and his “Inch by inch, row by row…” “Garden Song” has become an American folk classic.

The instructors include:

Lisa McCormick, a mainstay of the indie singer/songwriter underground, where her strong, clear voice, and smart, sexy lyrics have earned her a loyal following.

Stevie Coyle, founder, songwriter, guitarist and former front man of the Waybacks.

Mary Maguire from The Mary Maguire Band and Sweet Hot & Sassy, her vocal and harmony workshops are legendary in the festival scene.

Julian McBrowne, a teacher, career recording engineer, and producer, with over twenty years experience as a live sound mixer and production manager. The list goes on.

Camp Workshops cover song writing, lyrics, instrumentation, accompaniment, vocals, harmony, collaboration, demos, sound clinics and other themes. Evening concerts are included and private instruction is available as well.

Loon Song is held at Rockywold Deephaven Camps. Private, serene and comfortably simple, RDC naturally allows this special event to take center stage while the area’s majestic beauty is nothing short of inspirational.

Lodging and meals are included at Loon Song. Lodges and cottages are tucked discreetly amidst 1.5 miles of shore front pines and granite outcroppings. Cottages have a fireplace, screened in porch, a private dock and an antique ice box where ice harvested from Squam Lake is delivered daily, as is firewood. Three hearty buffet style meals are served daily. The food is varied, to include a vegetarian entree, a full salad bar, desserts and beverages.

What an amazing opportunity!
by: Linda Bolton

This looks like heaven on earth...not only a chance to improve your songwriting and performance skills, but also an opportunity to hang out with some of the best singer/songwriters in the business at a gorgeous place. It looks like there's a lot for non performers to do, so you don't even have to be a songwriter to attend. Wow.....!

checking in
by: Jonathan Edwards

Hello everybody, it looks like I will be participating in this year's festivities at the Loon Song Singer/songwriter Camp in Holderness, NH on June 8th and 9th. I love to do these seminar type events and no one learns more or benefits more from the experience than I do. I'm especially excited that this year I get to bring my trio for the 8PM show! I get to play and sing with Taylor Armerding on mandolin with his high, angelic harmony. Taylor is a founding member of the highly acclaimed progressive acoustic band, "Northern Lights". And holding down the other side of the stage is the guy who was on ALL my early recordings and whom I've been playing with on and off for 40years (has it been that long?), Stuart Schulman. He'll be playing bass, piano and fiddle, and he's starting to remember alot of the lyrics now so he'll be singing too.
Seriously, it's a treat and a privelege to play with these guys and I'm so glad that I'll be able to show them off at this year's camp. See you all there! Jonathan

be present for Loon songwriter event in June!
by: Katie

The camp has such a beautiful setting -- Squam Lake surrounded by views of the rattlesnake mountains, the peacefulness of the pines. Summer, green, cool, paddling on the lake. Just being there would be peaceful, centering and inspiring. Jonathan Edwards, David Mallett, Mary Maguire --- to be the presence of gifted songwriters --- music! I have my calendar marked!
Thanks for making this happen on Squam Lake!

Yay, I want to come!
by: Anonymous

Wow, this sounds like a great opportunity! Squam lake is so beautiful too. I want to go just to wake up in the morning and hear the sounds of the loons on the lake. I am hoping that I will be able to make it, because it is a great opportunity to learn new things, and to be able to relax and hang out with friends.

you bet I'm goin'
by: Stevie Coyle

I had the very good fortune of playing a show for Tom and Annie, the hosts of the Loon Song camp and I can tell you this is going to be one fine event. Incredibly gracious hosts, unparalleled surroundings and some mighty fine musicians, even if I do say so myself. By my lights, and knowing what I know already, this is a huge value-for-dollar opportunity.

See y'all there.
