Let It Flow (writing lyrics)

by Tony
(Kentucky)

Pick Up a guitar or any instrument you play and create a slow progression of chords. Then just let it all out. If your a singer and guitar player or what not be sure you can play the song while singing it. Keep a recorder or something handy to remember the rhythm and melody of the song. If you don't like how a part in the song sounds or want a totally new vibe to the song, keep the lyrics and write the music around them. Many a time I've found myself wailing on a guitar and just blurt out some soulful lyrics while the music sounds horrible. This is probably because im the bass player and singer. But we go back and let the guitar pros do the guitar and I do the bass to where I can sing and play at the same time.
