If you want professional recordings, disregard what you read! Its not that easy

First, yes, the above is true if you are recording a demo or beats and nothing more. No mention above about the track limitations of home gear and the fact that they are firewire and no where EVEN CLOSE to the clarity of HD systems. How about drums? no mention of that above... price the pro mics alone. How long does it take to make a professional recording? well for every 1 hr of recording figure 3 hrs mix if you know the program like the back of your hand. So for a beginner, most quit frustrated and go to a real studio anyway after nothing sounding good. No mention of the understanding of frequencies above? so what just turn knobs untill it sounds good? pelase... Why is the pro recording gear $14,000 minimum + but the gear mentioned above only hundreds? this article would like you to believe there is no difference... well there is a HUGE difference but then again this article was written by a "home studio" guy. The point is if your a musician, be a musician, hone your skills and craft. Dont waste your money and time on the above unless all you want is a demo becasue thats all your recordings will sound like and when you do go to a studio, make sure it is powered by Apogee Symphony or Pro Tools HD. There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE and sonic quality is essential to your carreer.

Sorry

Sorry. You've missed the mark on this one. When most people are listening to MP3s compared to a cd. I don't think the listening public cares greatly anymore about sonic quality as much as a good song is a good song. Sure everyone should get the chance to record through a Neumann mic and a great preamp onto an HD system, but it's not going to happen.

Quit Haten
by: Que

I know that post is old, but to me it sounds like you wasted your money on high priced equipment and your just mad. People you can have a professional sounding home studio for little money. Yes I have a home studio that is very professional and I make quality good sounding music in my studio. Only spent $3.000 so far, "still adding to my studio". Readers you do not even have to spend that much, if you already have a computer you can start with $500.00 dollars. Its all about how you work the software not how much it cost. So quit haten
