I WANT TO BE A PERFECT SONG WRITER.

I am Kingsley from West Africa Nigeria, I am lacking concept in regards to song writing. Sometimes I find it difficult to write because I don't know where to start. Please I really need your help to develop my way of writing songs, I will be much obliged to get all the tips I need to be a perfect song writer.

Well first of all you may never be perfect...though it is a nice goal...start by looking at lyrics from songs YOU like...break them down...what is the structure...how many lines per verse...what is the ryhme pattern...there several popular forms such as...
verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus

Using structure is a good start...from there think of an event in your life or others lives that tell a short story...this is really only a 3 minute story but the actual event is much longer...keep it simple...write like you talk...it does not have to be deep...unless you can do it well...just simple and fun and a story for people to relate to...and get some books on song writing...Good Luck

hey kingsley...i know what you mean but i usually write about stuff ive gone through...write about something you can relate to...but it has to come from you thats what makes a song great...so good luck and i hope to see some of your songs posted on here...kaitlyn
