I Need Help to start writing my own songs can you help?

I can sing, act, dance, but when it comes to writing music I get really shy and I am unsure if I sound too corny. What are good ways to get more confident in your lyrics? Also I don't play any instrument other than my voice, sometimes its hard to find a rythm in my head.
