How to write a rap song.

Hi folks. I would like to know the basics to how to write a rap song. What kind of vocabulary should I use? Are there typical expressions I should integrate into my lyrics? How should I structure the song? What are the rhyme patterns for rap music? Should I start with a beat? I know I'm asking lots of questions here. I have tried writing other genres before but rap has proven to be a little more of a challenge. More experienced songwriters, please share any thoughts or tips you may have on how to write a rap song. I thank you.

Hi Sherry. First of all I would take the time to listen to the artists at the top of their game. Check out songs from Flo Rida, T.I., Ludacris, and T-pain. These are current chart toppers. Rap can sometimes be lyrically driven,but it is usually centered around the flow or swag of the artist (which is the rythmic delivery mixed with attitude). The beat is at the heart of all and the patterns as well as the sonic qualities matter very much. For some old school inpiration listen to Tu Pac, Jay-Z, and Biggie Smalls. Well mate,I can't tell you all that much,but i can give a few pointers.
1.There's a few diffrent types of Rap,Pick which one's best for you
-Gansta rap,often Talking about hard times the rappers were in.
- hip hop,This isn't exactly rap but its the general idea,Some popualar themes are sex,girls and some form of love
2. If you can't figure it out,theres a ton of real rappers out there,find out about there life and listen to their music,my favorites are 2pac Sean kingston and flo rida,
