How Pat Galloway writes songs

by Pat Galloway
(Phoenix, Arizona)

I wrote over forty lyrics in less than a few weeks . I was pumping out 3-6 songs in just a few hours. I would put on a song similiar to the style I wanted to write about and then let that song inspire me. Then I would take the lyrics I wrote and find a subtopic hidden in my song and create a new song, and then just repeat. I started by using a mellow band like Cold Play to get me into a mood. Then the rest was spontaneous. I could even move into a completely different style using the same method. But use the last song as a stepping stone to the next song.
