It sounds like you may be over analyzing.
Thats good to come up with lyrics, but too much of it and you end up not knowing what to right.
what i do sometimes is i think about exactly how i feel and write my exact thoughts down. it could be a couple of sentences, a paragraph, or a page long. the more the merrier / the less the simpler. so however you want to do it.
