Great song/ lyric writing tips :D

by Diana
(MA)

Hey, my name is diana. I have some lyric writing tips that really help me, and I thought i'd like to share.

1. I found that when your writing a song, its much easier to pick a topic that you' ve expirienced and that also others can relate to. (its good to make it personal, that way it comes from you, and is easier to write about.)

2. Just start writing about however you feel, and you dont have to stick to a certain topic at first. just write about nothing. Sometimes you can go back to what you did in school by making a web, or idea list, or a list of how you feel. Just to get your brain flowing.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY

3. When your writing a song, i find that being in a nice, quiet, relaxing envirement that makes you happy, helps ideas flow better. For example, i've had my best ideas while watching the sunset on my roof.

(A quiet and relaxing envirement that makes you happy can also be good to start thinking of tunes and melodies. This can sometimes help you write lyrics better if you have a tune in mind.)

Good Luck!

-Diana.
