All about Gospel songwriting.

Gospel songwriting or Christian songwriting is different to regular songwriting in terms of the themes that are used. Christian songwriting centers around the teachings of Jesus Christ, christian doctrines and the Bible.

The sermon is usually a great place to get ideas when writing Christian songs. You should listen to the sermon and write down ideas as they come. The points that get the best response from the congregation should be particularly noted.

You need to pray for God's inspiration. You must ask Him to direct your songwriting. Put the Lord first and don't stop going to Church. If you live a spiritual life the lyrics will flow out of you much easily and it will be more genuine.

Many Gospel songs have been written on the themes praising the Lord and needing the Lord because they work. You must find innovative ways of saying these things.
