Empty, lyrics- a ballad

Hello this is the first time I've posted anything so it should be interesting to see the response.
This would be a contemporary song with strings and guitar etc.

In my life, there's been nothing
more than what I wanted to see
With joy, there is heartbreak
This is not, what I wanted to be
And I try so hard
But I fall so far
And I find, myself empty.

In every dance, there is a beat
and there's a hope in what you seek
For this time, I wish I could cry
This is not what I wanted to dream
And it hurts to weep
It forces me to seep
through the cracks, feeling empty.

Why won't this feeling fade away?
Why won't it ever leave?
Why does it have to stay?
And I causes me to bleed
Through all my hopes and dreams
They fall apart.

As I lie, in the darkness
Hoping something good will be
With the pain, there is weakness
Of the thought, of what I could be
But no matter what I seem to try
I seem to crumble deep inside
And I wonder what I could have been
If I, if I wasn't so empty.
