Dreaming With Opens Eyes Lyric Critique - Pop song

by A'mora
(Houston, TX)

(verse 1)
Hey stranger
Yeah you, the one who broke my heart
See, no one told me I was in danger
Of my life completely falling apart
I'd usually never put myself at risk like this
Lay it all on the line for you
Now I'm infected with whatever feeling this is
All my bad dreams come true

(chorus)
I got too much on my mind now
And I can't find any inner peace now
I'm dreaming with open eyes
Cause what I've lost what I couldn't find

(verse 2)
Hey liar
Thanks for throwing me in the flames
Now I'm covered in fire
Burned from all your games
I'd usually never put myself at risk like this
Just caught me out of the blue
Now I find my wishes amiss
All my bad dreams come true

(Chorus)

(verse 3)
Daydreaming of what could've been
If I had listened when
I was warned to keep distance
But I
Had to defy
The bluntness of your lies
You covered my eyes

Rythym
by: Nyx Echoes

It has a good rhythm which is hard for most people to maintain without OVER-rhyming, and the chorus is a good example of that, the way the hook doesn't rhyme is excellent, (and is the making of a good hit song).

If I'm being honest, the brige is a little weak and detatched. It's not really your fault because some of those words are just popular and overused.

It wouldn't hurt to add just a tad more emotion -in the bridge, maybe in the 2nd verse- and then you're really set.
Because the 1st verse and a few pieces in the 2nd verse maintain the theme.

DO NOT change that chorus, no matter what anyone else tells you!
It's really good!
