Don't put it aside - a songwriting tip

by Richelle
(Northern Michigan)

If you get an idea for a song, write it down ASAP(As Soon As Possible). If you leave it in your head, you might forget some keys points or lines. I have had to re-write entire stanzas because i didn't write them down.

More importantly, if you start a song, don't put it down when you've run out of ideas. keep working and going back to it, because if you wait to long to finish it, like months, or even years, you lose what you were feeling that caused you to the write the song in the first place. songs turn out soo much better if it is written in the moment. all of the songs that i have posted, my favorites, i wrote in less than a week. you will thank your self later!

That's some good advice. That happens to me sometimes it so frusterating when the words on the paper don't match the ones in my head. Do you ever just have so many song ideas in your head that it's hard to write em done one at time because they are all pushing and shoving the other songs out of the way?
