"Don't let me Down" lyrics-rock/pop

by Elizabeth
(planet earth)

I wrote this song for my best friend. I don't really like it but she does. I was just wondering what other people think

Don't Let me Down

verse 1:
the only one who gives me hope
that this world is okay
you're the one that showed me laughter
there's no reason to run away
the only person that I know
who's not afraid of living
you didn't care what they said
they didn't know anything
but things aren't the way
as they were before
'cus you're not right here
anymore

chorus:
(well when they)
took away the star light
in my eye
you wiped those tears
of blood I cry
when all my friends face away
and turn around
you still promise me
you're never gonna let me down

verse 2:
all those times
that we laughed
and all those times
that we cried
all those moments
that we lived
and all those moments
that we died
well all those moments are gone now
like ashes in the breeze
I pleaded them to stay
and not become just memories
but we still have a life to live
another smile
something else to give

(chorus)

bridge:
now you're here again
now I have a friend
now my ghost won't walk alone
can't take away the dreams we've sewn
with all the years of happiness
well when they
we're never gonna let them
because you're here

(chorus)

you may not believe it but it is a good song. keep up the good work. but when you make songs you should like your work.....just saying...i mean this is supposed to be on how you see something or how you feel or how you would feel. keep working.you did a good job organizing lyrics.
i had to try to organize mine from a bunch of words lol

Can do better
by: Anonymous

You have to continually edit your lyrics. This has potential but it's way too long. The structure of the song can be improved. I usually write:

Verse
Verse
Chorus
Verse
Verse
Chorus
Bridge
Chorus
Each verse should have almost the same number of syllables, and the same rhyming scheme. It should be easy to understand. The chorus should have the hook and be energetic.

I would suggest you go to you tube and listen to the videos of great singers and read their lyrics.

Needs revision
by: Sylvia

It may have possibilities, but you have to structure your song. I do it this way:

Verse
Verse
Chorus
Verse
Verse
Chorus
Bridge
Chorus
You need the same number of lines in each verse and the same rhyming scheme.

Your lyrical work is too wordy. Edit, edit, edit. That's what I do. It might be helpful if you go to you tube and choose an artist you like and read their lyrics and listen to their song.

I think this song is good. A little bit cliche at times (not to be mean) but good. It sounds like something I would write but better! ;). Try to just add some really interesting details or metaphors to make it more original. I like it though!
