Digital Audio Workstations (DAW's)

I would recommend using a digital audio workstation (with firewire) in conjuntion with your pc as it takes a hell of a load off your computer. It gives easier operation because your sliders and buttons are right in front of you without the use of the mouse and finding the function on the screen. Most of them also incorporate MIDI, your mic XLR's and optical/coaxial right in the board. You just cant go wrong.
