Closer To You - Lyrics Critique ( any melody ideas?)

by Frank Ramon
(san francisco ca.)

Closer To You

In the hush of the mornings stillness
I hear that song bird calling
its calling me
calling me
singing, come closer to me
for I'm your spirit
drifting near, drifting clear
drifting closer to you.

And in midnights deep in darkness
I hear that lonesome freight trains
whistle
and its calling me
calling me
singing, come closer to me
I am your spirit
rolling down the tracks
rolling near
rolling closer to you

And by some playgrounds happy racket
I hear the little children's laughter
and its calling me
calling me
laughing, come closer to me
I am your spirit
swinging sweetly
swinging closer to you

And in the blues mans guitar sounding
I hear the jungle rhythms pounding
and their moving me
moving me
saying I am your spirit
moving melodies
moving closer to you

Sing on sweet songbird
Roll on lonesome freight train
Laugh on happy children
Play on brother blues man
For I am your spirit
Living on
Living on
Ever closer to you

This is really good

I like this a lot.

Ideas, metaphors - good.
Good structure, too. It all comes together at the end which is very nice.

You might add this to the end:
Sing on
Roll on
Laugh on
Play on

And can I suggest "Sing On" would make a good title.
