Bumpy ride (slow pop) - lyrics critique

by jessica
(new york)

only 13 don't trash please

Every open mind
has a closed door waiting behind
is the world ready for you
and are you ready too?
going into the unknown
out of your comfort zone

it may take forever
and they just might say no
life can sure get hard
when you cna't get what you wnat
no matter how hard it is you try
if your mad get mad
if you wnat to cry just cry
it's gonna be a bumpy ride

Living on a prayer might not get you where
it is you want to go
but hold onto your dreams
and maybe someday baby
just keep living life
and keep your hopes alive

it may take forever
and they just might say no
life can sure get hard
when you cna't get what you wnat
no matter how hard it is you try
if your mad get mad
if you wnat to cry just cry
it's gonna be a bumpy ride

They all say try something else
your setting yourself up to fail
but if i wnat it bad enough
i just might prevail
not playing by the rules might get you dsiqualified but it doesn't mean you loose

it may take forever
and they just might say no
life can sure get hard
when you cna't get what you wnat
no matter how hard it is you try
if your mad get mad
if you wnat to cry just cry
it's gonna be a bumpy ride

life throws you problem
and you'll learn to dodge them
when life put up walls you tear them down
when theres something in your way you wlak around

it may take forever
and they just might say no
life can sure get hard
when you cna't get what you wnat
no matter how hard it is you try
if your mad get mad
if you wnat to cry just cry
it's gonna be a bumpy ride

Keep writing!
by: Anonymous

For 13, this is really good. Most 13 year olds think they know enough about life to write songs about it. But experience goes a long way in writing. If you never do anything interesting you'll never have anything interesting to write about. Do everything! Make your life's experience rich and full. And read - not just songwriters, but all great writers. Anyone can make a rhyme, but to come up with original turns of phrase and song-worthy material, nothing beats studying great writers.

And don't write a song about the same things everyone writes about - the world is polluted with bad lyrics. Find your own fresh, original ideas and slants on ideas that everyone can relate to. Live life to the fullest - then write about it! Good luck.
