At least all's right with the world - Lyrics Critique - Folk/Pop

Boy you will never grow to more or less
Than the plaudits won on your latest test
And you will someday say that life is best
When you haven't got the time to rest
To sit and stare, judge and assess
Or think about the spreading mess
That is your life, the only life you live for
Buildings will be forever built and filled
With people draining years to fill their wills
And it seems there's few don't know the drill
That the surest way to live is kill
That freedom never paid a bill
That failure like the winter chills
And that a little bit more has never hurt he who's got it
Lovers will forever and always say they're fine
With their smudging lines, their partners crimes
What's yours is mine, what's mine is yours
Though you can be sure there has been times
That any free or forceful sign
Would have been enough to change their minds
Were it not for the chimes from that grandfather clock in the kitchen
So keep your ear to the ground
Or bury your head in the sand
Throw care and caution to the wind
Or frame and tame tomorrow's plans
Either way you'll someday say
That at least all's right
At least all's right
At least all's right with the world
Those that prefer the world with a drink or two
And those again with another few
Always claim that they ain't part of that troubled crew
That society's finger ain't got a clue
But you'll see them Sunday morning in religious queue
At any alter at all just not somewhere new
And six pints in they'll tell you that a change is as good as a holiday
Power, like a whore for money, roars
Conjures tricks for you that open doors
But once a little comes of course there best be more
From the job that promises you freedoms shores
To the church of creation tilting your head ever lower
Tells you with convictions tongue that less is more
It seems that freedom's only freedom when you're caged
Things will always have been better when
You weren't around, when men were men
When there was no problem too big too mend
When people could not twist or bend
But if you look once then twice again
At how genreations sometime blend
You may just say that life was always changing
So keep your ear to the ground
Or bury your head in the sand
Throw care and caution to the wind
Or frame and tame tomorrow's plans
Either way you'll someday say
That at least all's right
At least all's right
At least all's right with the world
