"At Day's End" - Alt country/rock - looking for feedback/critique

As you lay down in your sleepy town
with sunflowers outside your window
they gently toll as the night winds blow
waiting for the morning to come

In the desert sand with gun in hand
a soldier keeps eye for his troops
they roll along, right or wrong
they just do what they have to do

At days end when the sun goes down
At days end in your sleepy town
At days end when you close your eyes
Think of those who don't have a days end

At an army base with vacant face
They wait with flowers in hand
A mother a father, a sister a brother
Never thought this day would come

As they lay him down into the ground
In a field of white reminders
They roll along right or wrong
They just do what they have to do
