Bye Bye Miss American Pie
by: Michael Holland Shepard

Michael Holland Shepard is the songwriter, music and lyrics. It is a tribute song to Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, Big Bopper and the pilot (ghostrider in the sky). It was soon after I songwrote Puff The Magic Dragon at 12. The song Rye Whisky came from American Pie. A friend Michael Martin Murphy sang it.

Wrong! Author of American Pie, the song, is Don McLean. Google it for the story behind it.
