A better Man. (AKA The Prayer) Country Lyric Charlie in Alabama

by Charlie
(alabama)

A BETTER MAN
Hello God, It?s just me down here,
I though I?d step out side and say a little prayer.
I know we don?t talk much, but it seemed like a good time.
For me to let you know what was on my mind.
I?m sorry Lord; I know I?m not the Man that I should be.
I guess there?s still a little of the devil left in me
But I?m trying Lord, to be a better Man.
I know that you can help me, If anybody can.

(Chorus)
Make me be more loving. Teach me to forgive.
Help me not to judge the way, other people live.
I don't want to measure my life, by another man?s success
Help me to realize each day, how much I have been blessed
And Lord, as only you can, help me to be a better man

Me a daddy? You know, it still don?t seem real.
But I think now, I understand how you must feel.
When your children don?t listen to your voice,
And they go their own way and make their own choice.
I know your watching, from up there amongst the stars.
And I know you?re never far away if I have you in my heart.
Thanks for listening; I?m glad that you still care
Thanks for reminding me, that You are always there.

(Chorus)
Make me be more loving. Teach me to forgive.
Help me not to judge the way, other people live.
I don't want to measure my life, by another man?s success
Help me to realize each day, how much I have been blessed
And Lord, as only you can, help me to be a better

Keep me updated! I want to read more!
by: Jessica

I love it but that does not help you if I just say that so... I would make it longer and add a bridge if you can...I loved it I could hear George straight singing that one! Tell more about the comparison of being a Daddy and God our Father! You need one more verse and a bridge and it will be awesome!

I really like the chours
by: Lonnie

Charlie, I like this one too. I think the chours is as good as on any song. It's hard to get the feeling of how the song goes. I have the same problem when people read mine. They are wrote with timeing and a melody and just reading the words don't give it justice. I just found this web site and will hunt up all you have posted on here

Amazing
by: Joshua Rhodes

Charlie this is by far the best song that I've seen from you on here. Lyrically I felt like i knew exactly how you wanted to come accross and I was truly moved by your words. I think you have something with this song!!!!

Well done!
by: Anonymous

First off, let me start by saying that I'm a beginner. I really enjoyed these lyrics, though, and would like to hear this on the radio. It reminded me of 'Dear Mr. God' from the movie 'Letters to God'. I really liked how you twisted common phrases in your words and you use some really strong rhymes. Think you have something here!

I might like to see a bridge in this, though.

God bless!

I think the lyrics are very nice. I also agree with Jessica about expounding more on "Dad" and "God".

Very heartfelt NEW
by: Anonymous

This is my first time at this but I think it flows nicely and I think that most people can relate. There may be a couple places where there's a little too much wording, but nice overall!
